Leaked HIV patients’ identities

In the news this morning, we have been commenting in the Daily Mail after a major leak yesterday of HIV patients’ identities, which now sparks fears about plans to put NHS records online.

In today’s Times, Chaand Nagpaul has been commenting after Simon Stevens said patients face a confusing “alphabet soup” of options when trying to find a doctor at evenings and weekends.

Also in the news, the health secretary has pledged that patients will be able to access their full GP records on smartphones within a year. We have been responding to this in The Times, Guardian, Daily Mirror, Daily Telegraph and the Sun.

The Times has been speaking about sugar and mentioning the BMA following our food for thought report which suggests a 20 per cent sugar tax.

In broadcast news, Richard Vautrey was interviewed on BBC Look North yesterday evening discussing the crisis in general practice in rural areas. You can watch Peter Holden being interviewed on this on BBC Breakfast yesterday.

Charlotte Jones will be interviewed on BBC Radio Northampton on Friday morning discussing NHS 111.
