LMC Meetings
Cheshire LMC has full committee meetings at regular intervals throughout the year. Officers of the LMC also meet on a monthly basis with each of the PCTs in Cheshire to discuss topics of mutual interest. In addition, the LMC officers hold meetings across the county which are open to all local GPs.
Items for the agendas of all the meetings are welcome - please contact the office. Notes of all the meetings are also available from the office.

Local Medical Committees are the bodies statutorily recognised by successive NHS Acts as the professional organisation representing General Practitioners. Each Committee covers an area which corresponds to that covered by one or more Primary Care Trusts. Cheshire LMC relates to Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT, and to Western Cheshire PCT.
LMC Members are elected on a constituency basis and include representation from GMS and PMS doctors, from salaried, sessional and freelance doctors and from GP Registrars.
Representatives of all the LMCs in the UK (including a member of Cheshire LMC) form the General Practitioners' Committee of the British Medical Association. The GPC is the only body which represents all GPs and is recognised by the Department of Health as the GPs' sole negotiating body.
